Oh heyyy, I know it's only been a week but I have a few things I've added and I wanted to let everyone know. LOL

lore rolodex page

We finally have a Lore Rolodex page where you can find different lore scattered throughout the site! It's pretty barebones right now but I will be updating it throughout the year! There's a tiny bit of new info scattered among the pages, I'll be updating the more bare pages this year! It's been added under "Info" in the site menu.

Relics

I've added a new item category called "Relics". These will be collectable items obtained in events kinda like badges! They'll be added to your xyn's inventory and will be character-locked. The first three are for choosing different paths in Legendseekers! (Also it will help me keep track haha.)

moonstone shop update

The moonstone shop will now stock old, retired plushies. The rarer ones will be more expensive! We'll also have moonstone-shop exclusive plushies, the first one being the Kiba plushie! The moonstone shop has been updated.

Happy Frostfall Festival! The xyns of Lunerest are getting used to the chilly weather! There's lots of snow and ice around during this time, so many snow/ice-sculpting contests are held! Xyns take great pride in their art, and there's competitions with wonderful prizes throughout the month. Xyns also celebrate the falling of new snow by having get-togethers and singing songs. Sometimes xyns will leave offerings for the snow gods on top of huge mountains! However, during the winter months, the wilds get more dangerous. There's predators looking to prey on xyns during this time so xyns are extra vigilant to bring trained guards when going out!

Legendseekers part 1: the moons wane

This year, we're doing a multi-part, lore-heavy prompt chain called Legendseekers.

Legendseekers will be a series of prompts that happen every 2 months this year. There will be a long-standing story that your xyn follows! You must use the same xyn for the entirety of Legendseekers. Each section will disappear after two months and your xyn must have completed the previous prompt to continue the story. You may only complete these prompts once per user. There will be a difficult catch-up mechanic at the end of the series of prompts. 

Each prompt will get a custom roleplayed response when approved, please keep these secret until the next Legendseekers prompt comes out!!!! You'll be able to share once the next prompt is revealed. This will transfer to every Legendseekers prompt in the future, so for Legendseekers part 2, you wouldn't be able to share roleplay responses until Legendseekers part 3 comes out but you're free to share the information you got from Legendseekers part 1!

Your xyn's choices and actions will have an impact on the overall story.

The prompt kicks off with the first prompt: The Moons Wane. Two of Lunerest's moons seem to be losing power and the queens cannot find a solution. Your xyn has been called upon to help!

This prompt has a lot of writing/requirements as well as branching paths so please be sure to read the prompt thoroughly!!!!

new Trait tier + traits(+?)

Suneater's Curse didn't really fit well into the "Majesty" trait category so we're introducing the Mythos trait tier! This is reserved for extremely rare traits with multiple effects like the Suneater's Curse.
Along with that we're introducing Moonstricken, you can read more about it on the Illnesses and Afflictions page! It will be rarely obtainable via Legendseekers.

New rare traits for vexyn and pixyn!

Serrated Fangs are now available to vexyn via rare trait sticker.
No Antennae are now available to pixyn via rare trait sticker.

There are also new trait potions mixed into the prize pools for Legendseekers that I won't announce here, but you can sniff around the encyclopedia if you're curious!!!!
There are also new companions mixed into the Legendseekers pool, more items may or may not be added into the loot pools with new prompts.

faefolk mounts

Faefolk are getting a new companion type this year, mounts! They'll be worth more currency than normal companions when drawn with your faefolk. You'll be able to find mounts for sale in Patchwork's Shop! There will be new mounts for each season this year. The winter mount is the Rime Beast!!!!

Faefolk aren't as good as getting around as xyns- they have less magic, stamina and aren't very fast with their little legs. Faefolk are very in tune with nature so they're easily able to tame and communicate with the fauna of Etoille! Intense tack for mounts isn't popular and they're treated with utmost respect.

Happy New Year, Lunerestians!!!! I am so grateful to every one of you!!!! Lunerest has grown bigger than I could ever imagine and I'm eternally grateful for you all that like to participate in my world!!

This year, I will be focusing on lore, site improvements and lore-heavy events as evidenced by Legendseekers. There will be less new traits and items, but I'm hoping that the lore and site features more than make up for it!!!! (there may also be some unannounced items as prizes in some of the loot pools of Legendseekers...👀) I will be compiling lore and adding a lore rolodex where you can click links to find lore. I'll be releasing more lore and lore pages and hopefully this year we'll be upgrading to Lorekeeper v3!! There will likely be site downtime when we look to switch so the advent calendar might be a bit wonky. We will definitely announce the planned downtime!

I probably won't be doing adopts every month like I used to and will just do sales when I feel like it!!!!

I've dipped my toes into making games like Sparkle Derby and will be focusing more time/effort into that this coming year. 

There will likely be reruns of old events this year alongside Legendseekers. I hope you all enjoy what I've cooked up and I look forward to another excellent year of Lorenerest, I mean, Lunerest.

happy year of the fire horse!!!! 🔥

Happy Snowlight Bash everyone! It's starting to get cold outside and snow, but the xyns are still out and about nonetheless! There are beautiful auroras floating in the sky constantly, so a lot of xyns spend time outside following the auroras. Xyns are known to exchange gifts, cards and other treats around this time! The early snow brings cozy clothes into fashion and xyns are always trying to look fabulous! Sledding, snowxyn making and cocoa competitions are starting, the main cities are decorated with lights, xyns love this jolly season!

Moonfrost notes event!!!!

During the time of the Snowlight Bash; both xyns and faefolk alike participate in a tradition called Moonfrost Notes. They take small, festive pieces of paper and decorate them with small adornments like bells, stickers, stars and other miscellaneous festive items. They then write a sentence or two to another xyn or faefolk (or to themselves) wishing them a bright future and happy holiday! They're traditionally exchanged on the 22nd night of the time of the Snowlight Bash.

Sixth Annual Xynmas Secret Xanta!!!

It's that time of the year again, time to sign up for the Secret Xanta exchange!

The Secret Xanta signups will be open from November 1st - November 10th; assignments will be sent out November 11th!
Secret Xanta gifts will be able to be posted between December 25th - January 1st!

Rules and Details:
-At least one xyn or faefolk to sign up with! This is only open to Lunerest characters.
-You must draw one full-body, coloured gift-art of one of the characters your recipient has listed! Lineart may be sketchy and chibis and pixel art is allowed as long as it's at least 100x100 in size.
-Please do not draw more than one character, as there will be no additional secret xanta rewards for drawing additional characters. If you draw your recipient more than one gift, you understand that you will not get extra compensation from the prompt!
-If you have an emergency and cannot finish your gift, please DM Key either on discord (tehshleigh) or toyhouse (keydemon) as soon as possible so we can get a backup artist assigned!
-You may DM key any one person you're not comfortable being matched with.
-If you fail to complete your gift AND do not notify Key to provide you with a backup artist, you may be put on the naughty list for future Secret Xantas.

Happy Cozyhearth Gathering everyone! It is once again time for xyns to gather and celebrate fire, warmth and togetherness! Fire elements are extra strong and xyns are gathering around for huge campfires, stories and carnivals with games themed around flames. There are firebreathing contests, potlucks, ring toss games, sweets, it's all around a wonderful time and xyns are encouraged to spend time with those they love.

Happy Brighthollow Banquet, everyxyn! During the Brighthollow Banquet, there are large harvests of the fruits, flowers and vegetables unique to Lunerest. There’s often great banquets and balls to attend. Rogue spirits float through the air and give out tricks and treats during this time! Xyns tour through Lunerest, appreciating the pixyns’ work changing the seasons. Xyns dress up in costumes to celebrate their ancestors and the lost spirits drifting about. The sky and forests are often lit up with these little spirits!

HAUNTED CRYSTALCORN MAZE

Pixyns and other xyns interested in nature and spirits have gathered outside of Moonreach to create a giant, potentially haunted maze of crystalcorn! Crystalcorn is similar to Earth corn but the kernels are crystalline and gemlike. Although it can be eaten, it’s often just used in ornamental displays around autumn! Xyns sometimes even export it to Etoille for faefolk to enjoy. Crystalcorn has dark green stalks that grow to huge heights! It’s so thick that you cannot see past the rows and rows of crystalcorn. After the maze is finished, the xyns will tear it all down and share the crystalcorn with anyone attending the final reaping!

sUNEATER's CURSE

A rare form of corruption has recently resurfaced... the Suneater's Curse.

This form of corruption causes a xyn to grow bigger, develop star-shaped patches on them and relentlessly seek sunlight to absorb. Their regular breath or magic is replaced by a fiery plasma breath that tears open holes in dimensions. They use the tears in dimensions to find more sunlight to absorb. They're known to cause destruction and block sources of sunlight in other dimensions.

Entering the Haunted Crystalcorn Maze prompt will grant you a ticket to a raffle to receive a Suneater's Curse to apply to any xyn!
There will be 1 Suneater's Curse raffled per 25 entries if participation is high.

MISC

This year I've been trying to even out the amount of traits each festival has- so if you've noticed there's no new traits for this month!!!! I'm going to step back in trying to force new traits every month and thusly forcing a Sunrise Celebration sale every month. Starting in January sales from me are going to be a bit scarcer as I try to focus on chasing another dream of mine!

Lunerest will continue of course- just with less pressure on myself to constantly churn out new traits and sales.
Hopefully this will mean more unique prompts and lore!

During the Leafdusk Fete, the plants around Lunerest are fading from their normal colours to bright yellows and oranges. The xyns celebrate the changing of the seasons with the Leafdusk Fete! The weather is cooler and light from the moon doesn't last as long. Many xyns enjoy this change from the hot months to the cooler ones. During the Leafdusk Fete there’s always a huge scavenger hunt! Ryu and Yuhi hide dawnberry flowers among the changing leaves and xyns that bring one to them are rewarded with sweets! There’s a huge sky-dance among the changing leaves that happens every night around bonfires. Xyns start to sell cozier accessories like scarves and earmuffs and there’s a craft market that starts up! There’s always good food and merriment to be had during the Leafdusk Fete!

6 years of lunerest celebration!!!!

Happy 6 years of Lunerest, everyone!!!! I am so grateful for all of the love and support Lunerest has received. What started as a tiny passion project grew into something bigger that I absolutely love sharing with everyone. Every new piece of Lunerest art/writing fills my soul with joy. For xyns:

Wilted Tail: A long tail (approximately the length of your xyn) that has a curtain of long fur hanging off of it.

For faefolk:

Spirit Companions:Tiny ghostlike spirits follow your faefolk around. They can be any shape but must be the same shape (for example: all cat shaped ghosts).

The new enchanted accessory Enchanted Microchip now grants the Electronic trait.

Electronic: Part(s) or the entirity of your character is now electronic. Robotics/full robots, object parts or just parts of your character being electronic are all allowed.

Enchanted Cozyhearth Scarf now grants the Fabric trait as well as the Fabric Wings trait.

We're also adding Clawed as a rare faefolk trait! Can be retractable or non-retractable.

Happy Meteorwind Reception, everyone! During this time of year, things start to cool off in Lunerest as autumn approaches. It’s common to see nightly meteor showers during this time! Xyns tend to wish upon the falling meteors and rush to find where they landed in Lunerest, sometimes there’s treasures and sometimes it’s just for fun! It tends to be quite windy, which is great flying weather! There’s often viewing parties, sky dancing and general parties themed around the falling meteors.

Festival of faun clovers

Every summer; faefolk celebrate life, nature and new beginnings. This festival is known throughout Etoille as the Festival of Faun Clovers!
Faun clovers are bow-shaped clovers that contain concentrated amounts of Styr'Fa's magic. They're highly desired and only pop up outside of the Inner Garden when faefolk magic is powerful during the Festival of Faun Clovers.
Faefolk gather in the Cherished Circle to celebrate with games, vendors, food and music! Check out the Festival of Faun Clovers prompt under Event Prompts to celebrate and perhaps get a new companion for your faefolk!

Additionally guardian faefolk are now released!

Guardian faefolk are faefolk that have studied under Styr'Fa to take care of baby faefolk and the Inner Garden. They have more powerful magic and are deeply respected among other faefolk. Styr'Fa favours guardian faefolk over other faefolk as well.

There's now a Quest Chain to become a guardian faefolk!
(Located under prompts > quest chains)

Additionally; guardian faefolk now earn +1 seasonal blessing when included in any prompt by their owners!

Guardian faefolk have the guardian mark on their mask. They also often have faun clovers growing on them from spending a lot of time in the Inner Garden!

Lore on guardian faefolk and babyfolk have been added to the faefolk page.

Xynlet growth bonus

For the month of August, when you grow any xynlet up, you can use any additional uncommon-limited trait!
You can grow a xynlet up via a growth prompt or a star's blessing to claim this. This only applies to growing up xynlets and not to standard MYOs.
You can also claim a floppy vexyn plushie of your choosing! Please include which plushie you want in the design update.

Crescent-Shaped Ears: Your xyn's ears are a crescent shape! 

For faefolk:

Guardian Mark: Your faefolk has the mark of a guardian faefolk on their mask!
Faun-Clovered: Your faefolk has faun clovers growing on them! There can be such an abundance of them that it forms into a mane.

Clover-Shaped Mask and Clover Mask Horns: Granted by the new cloverscharm- allows your faefolk's mask to be clover-shaped and/or have clover-shaped mask horns. (Can be 3 or 4 leaf clovers.)

Mysterious sheet music has been permanently added to the moonstone shop!

Happy Wildwhim Soiree, everyone!! With the warmer seasons comes the wild winds of the Wildwhim Soiree. Winds blow heavily this time of year, picking up petals and creating intense windstorms. Some xyns enjoy wind surfing, while others just like to watch the tornadoes. Xyns with the wind element are powered up during this time, so daredevils often get their friends to pump up the windstorms! Magic is usually either intense or dull day by day, you never know what could happen! This is the result of tiny sprites and faeries messing with the magic sources. Popular activities are windsurfing, adventuring in search of wild magic, singing (as the winds carry their voices well) and vexyn strength tournaments! Vexyns are usually feeling competitive, amped up by the wild magic, so they compete in tournaments to see who's stronger!

First annual summer secret xanta!!!!

We're running our first ever summer secret xanta event!!!!

The Secret Xanta signups will be open from June 1st - June 14; assignments will be sent out June 15th!
Secret Xanta gifts will be able to be posted between July 25th - August 1!

Rules and Details:
-At least one Lunerestian to sign up with! This is only open to Lunerest characters.
-You must draw one full-body, coloured gift-art of one of the xyns your recipient has listed! Lineart may be sketchy and chibis and pixel art is allowed as long as it's at least 100x100 in size.
-For the summer secret xanta you can draw up to 3 gifts!
-Upon signing up you acknowledge you will receive 1-3 gifts and not be guaranteed 3.
-If you have an emergency and cannot finish your gift, please DM Key either on discord (tehshleigh) or toyhouse (keydemon) as soon as possible so we can get a backup artist assigned!
-You may DM key any one person you're not comfortable being matched with.
-If you fail to complete your gift AND do not notify Key to provide you with a backup artist, you may be put on the naughty list for future Secret Xantas.

Prizes!:
-Your choice of astervyrn companion:

-You can do up to 3 separate gifts; you'll get your choice of astervyrn for each separate gift! Each gift must follow the guidelines above.
-4 star pieces (or fairy dust if you submit August 1st.)
-You may ask Xanta for a gift as well! Please list at least 3 Lunerest items you would want to recieve. You may list a maximum of 8 items. Xanta will choose randomly. (These come from the admin account- you do not have to have the item to give to your recipient.)
-A special summer moxyn plushie

 
-You may type N/A in Xanta's Letter if you aren't interested in the extra prize.
