With never having really gotten to know his father, it was only natural for Nakashi to latch onto his mother instead, who he saw as a great Idol in his childhood. Though even that wasn't meant to last, as she—ever driven by inspiration and the need to know—left for what she believed to be her already "long-grown" (as she put it) son behind, embarking on a quest of  truth instead. Holding his mother's drive for knowledge in high regards, Nakashi furiously practiced his magic abilities and was soon after able to enroll alongside Kira (fellow classmate and friend) as one of other Knight recruits under Noir's guidance. Magically gifted, particularly blessed with a high resistance against Corruption and academically skilled Nakashi was this close to not only graduate as one of the best alongside his peers, but also revolutionize the corruption research field, weren't it for his master thesis experiment completily backfiring, attracting a giant corruption beast in the process and seeing several of his classmates and teachers be corrupted in front of his eyes. Partially because of guilt, partially driven out by his other peers Nakashi instead decides to retreat to the very borders of Wingfell, where he crafts his own observatory atop of a hill. Solitary ways of existence are not some things Xyns are made for, but it's a small price to pay if only Nakashi is able to pursue truth once and for all.

Nakashi puts knowledge above all else. To him knowledge and truth are the absolute good and must be spread, no matter how horrifying and it's that what he believes his role in life is, even if he were to be shunned for it or judged. Though, there's also a deep underlying desire to prove himself and maybe see his mother again someday.

✩ he has a terrible constitution, both freezes easily and can get heat strokes rather fast and he's a horrible flier/ can't swim 
✩ while Nakashi does have a knack for common sense for the Xyns around him, he really struggles with being honest with himself and his feelings, leading him to overthink too much and judge people based on that
