Royal Knight Quest - Training - Hui

The weather in Moonreach was pleasant and warm, with a comfortable breeze that occasionally tickled Hui's nose. He had only been in the capital of Lunerest for a week and was still in awe of how different the weather and the surroundings was from his home in Valorise. Valorise was deep in the mountains of the Frostouched Pines, the colors there were drab and harsh and the surroundings were rocky and icy, a complete opposite of the lush grasslands of Moonreach.

Hui was just one of many vexyns who lived in Valorise. The fluffy white vexyn was completely astounded when he heard the news that he was selected from his classmates to train as a royal knight in Moonreach. His classmates laughed at his shock as Hui was a very strong xyn, hard worker and very likable. His personality could even be considered bubbly, as far as vexyn are concerned. His good friend Shadow, was also selected to train at the capitol, a more perfect pair could not have been selected.

The two had only known each other for a few years, back when Shadow had moved into his neighborhood in eastern Valorise. They had met when Hui had stumbled upon two lost moxyns being bullied by a notorious trouble maker and his lackeys. Before the white vexyn stepped in, Shadow appeared with his long hair and wispy and glittering wings. He looked like he did not want to be there, slightly shaking, but he stood his ground and told the vexyns off. Before the gang could attack, Hui charged in, ramming his shoulder right into the face of the big bully. Since then, Hui and Shadow had been great friends. Hui greatly admired Shadow's fortitude and willingness to stand up, even when his default nature was to be shy and unobtrusive. As they grew to be friends, Hui discovered Shadow's inner goofy self and they were inseparable, bonding over making bad puns.

The white vexyn's reminiscing came to an abrupt end when Shadow bobbed him on the head gently with a wing tip. "Break's over, why'd you come out this far from the training grounds, didn't want to anyone to see you dozing?"

"I saw a Beeteor, I couldn't help but follow it, they're good luck you know." Hui jumped into the air and raced back to camp with Shadow.

The two friends reached camp just in time for training to begin again. Clay disks hurtled at the young vexyns as they bobbed and dodged as they attempted to hit a moving target with their training gauntlets. Shadow moved deftly and soundlessly past the whizzing obstacles, landing a vicious strike on the target. Hui, with a wink to his friend went flying through the disks. Just as he was about to reach his target one disk nicked his wing, but before the whistle went off to call out his error, Hui struck the target with such precision and force, striking over the spot Shadow hit, that the target broke apart spectacularly showering the other trainees in straw and wood.

Captain Yuu still blew her whistle, "Back in line Hui, I saw you get hit. Also try not to explode any more of our targets."
