To Battle II: Part 1 [Legendseekers]

Pantalaimon, Troia, Bravura, and Chiptune arrived back at the gates of Moonreach after an arduous journey back from Wingfell.

From the outside, the barrier was already showing signs of weakening- occasionally flickering, ever so slightly, . Everyone worried about how Ryu fared from inside her castle, resting with Yuhi. No matter how if hundreds to thousands of trained xyns could train to erect a barrier, it would not last for more than a few minutes without a single Queen to fuel it. Would the day of the Sunrise Celebration be enough to help...?

"Thank the Queens we're back!" Pantalaimon groaned, and collapsed onto the cobblestone road after their walk- kissing the floor. Their fairy halo dropped to the ground, twitching, as if it too was dead from Pantalaimon's exhaustion. Troia slunk over beside them, shaking her head, and Bravura winced. 

"Easy, Pantalaimon," Bravura reminded them. "We're not quite done with our work yet."

"Aww, please! Don't remind me when we all need a break right now!" Pantalaimon whined. They rolled around on the ground wildly in protest, but Troia placed her claws on their belly to stop them in place, shaking her head. Pantalaimon wriggled beneath her. "Let me go!".Troia growled, and they quieted, pouting.

The group of traveling xyns were received  with moderate fanfare by many of Moonreach's citizens and knights expecting their return- including Samson and Oberon. 

"It's you!" Oberon exclaimed. Near uncharacteristic of him, he seemed about to burst from excitement at the prospect of gaining more knowledge. "Please, tell me everything we need to know about what you saw and where you went. It's of utmost importance if so many of you had cleff compasses to direct you to it!"

Samson greeted them all with a gruff, reserved smile. "Because if Oberon thinks that what you've come back with can help us, then we're going to need you to come along with us to find and save a last group of Vexyns from Valorise that were supposed to arrive here to fortify Moonreach's magical barrier... Ryu is clearly at her limit and Valorise cannot afford to send anymore assistance to us as it prepares for war."

"Another search and rescue? Aww, okay." Pantalaimon got up,  then sighing. "Let's explain what happened while we were out..."

Pantalaimon, Bravura, and Chiptune spoke altogether about their journey, where the compasses directed them to Wingfell- their Soul Songs- the magical stone shrine- the world of Etoille and Styr'Fa- the song of Etoille, and the gifts that Styr'Fa gave them- and the countless Cleff Compasses that the spirits gifted them when they sang in Wingfell again- teaching every xyn their own Soul Song with the enormous amount of cleff compasses left behind, and the  the song of Etoille...

Oberon was astounded by what he had hears. "Usher in... peace closer to us... Push defilement... further away...  this may be useful for Samson- let him explain."

Samson shook himself off before speaking, well-focused, but clearly stressed. "As you know, Valorise is preparing itself for war, just like Moonreach; they will no longer send us help after this to prepare to defend their own city. Because their Telestones shattered, they had a messenger accipidrake that would fly back and forth to deliver us messages, but it stopped coming... the last scroll their accipidrake dropped off earlier today estimated that they'd be in the outskirts of our city in three nights- and we could barely read the writing they scrawled out in a panic... because the scroll was stained in corruption ooze."

Every xyn present chattered in worry, and some gasped in horror. 

Oberon spoke next: "Samson needs xyns- and I want you to test: to try to sing your Soul Songs, together with the Song of Etoille, when you try to find those xyns- we know Corruption is afoot, and we must find out for sure what a combination of these songs will do to Corruption itself..."

Samson narrowed his eyes.

"And so we have to search for and rescue those vexyns now, at any cost. We depart tonight- you have a few hours to recuperate- rest up until then!"
