Queen Yuhi

Queen Yuhi is one of the rulers of Lunerest. She's fierce, benevolent, protective and easily worked up. Once you get to know her and her tough guise falls, her prankster personality can come out. She loves nothing more than a good laugh. Queen Yuhi was born from the cosmos hundreds of years ago. She used to lead a small tribe of xyns that eventually became Moonreach. She used to be distrustful, a stick in the mud and stoic, but Ryu showed her the beauty of life and she became softer over the years. Yuhi can communicate with almost any cosmic entity and is skilled in multiple type of magic. She oversees the Royal Knights. She'll do anything it takes to protect Lunerest. Queen Yuhi has no direct relatives.

Queen Ryu

Queen Ryu is one of the rulers of Lunerest. She's charismatic, loyal, benevolent and pretty relaxed overall. She has a great sense of humour, loves sweets and loves pretty much every xyn. She can use fire and astral magic but isn't super skilled in magic. She cares deeply for Lunerest and its inhabitants. Ryu was born from a rogue star hundreds of years ago and stumbled upon Yuhi's settlement. She drained the power of one of the suns to vanquish corruption a long time ago. She oversees the Lullay Knights. Queen Ryu has no direct relatives.

Cavvy

Cavvy is a Royal Guide who lives in Moonreach's castle.  Cavvy's family wasn't royalty originally but Cavvy dedicated themselves to learning about Moonreach and Lunerest after losing their magical talents to corruption. They're in charge of welcoming new xyns to the city, keeping tabs on how things in the city are going and doing research. They can often be found in the streets of Moonreach talking to other xyns and gathering information. They're pretty cold and serious, but upon talking to them, you can tell they care deeply for Lunerest and Moonreach. Cavvy is well-respected and knows a lot about corruption. Cavvy's family retired to Elysium Heights years ago. Cavvy is part of the Royal Court.

Oberon

The head of research in Moonreach's castle. Oberon is serious, tired and grumpy, but the head Royal Professor of Lunerest nonetheless. Oberon is often locked away in his office doing research and experiments. Oberon's research originally helped develop prosthetics for xyns without horns and he quickly rose in the ranks as the queens acknowledged his vigorous pursuit of knowledge. Oberon's relatives have all passed.

Hush

The first-in-command of the Lullay Knights, Hush is tactful, bold and serious. Hush is a bleeding heart, trying to help anyone they're able to. They've come close to being corrupted many times and seem unphased by it. They're extremely proficient in Soothe magic and always brought on to help with difficult corruption cases. Hush is mute and communicates through telepathy. They are very protective of Ryu and refer to her as "my moonlight". Hush is well-respected and revered as a saviour around Lunerest. Hush's relatives live in Moonreach's castle. Hush is very attentive and dedicated to the Lullay Knights.

Samson

Samson is the first-in-command of the Royal Knights. Samson is cunning, quiet, stubborn and determined. Samson trained vigorously for years to become the leader of the Royal Knights. He's tough and harsh, but cares deeply about every Royal Knight. It's sometimes tough to win his respect, but if you do, he'll trust and protect you always. Samson lives in Moonreach but isn't around much, he's usually leading missions or doing patrols. His family lives in Valorise. Samson is seen as a legend around Lunerest and the best battlemind.

Belvedere

Belvedere is the head of the Royal Aids in Moonreach Castle. He's proud, strong, diligent and always makes sure everything is done to perfection around the castle. He's easy to get along with despite his better-than-thou nature and the queens value his hard work highly.

Mossball

Mossball may be the head of Lunerest's Underground but he respects the queens. He keeps them in the know of what's happening in Lunerest's Underground and reports dangers and other suspicious activities to them. Doing this, he has become a trusted Moonsworn. Despite this, he remains fiercely independent. He's well-respected and very powerful.

Lunerest's Royal court

Lunerest's royal court is wing-chosen by Ryu and Yuhi. Many of them live within Moonreach's castle but there are representatives and smaller castles in each of the major cities around Lunerest. The Royal Court helps make large decisions, handles crime and disputes, keeps track of Lunerest's overall health and manages things like commerce and infrastructure. Families often make up the Royal Court, as xyns usually pass down their jobs/traditions and xyns usually like the protection and luxury of the Royal Court. Some important positions that make up the Royal Court include:

Princess/Prince: A seat currently unoccupied; Ryu and Yuhi someday hope to have a xynlet they can raise to take the throne someday.

Moonsworn: Moonsworn are very close and well-respected members of the Royal Court that are in charge of overseeing the towns/cities of Lunerest. There's at least one Moonsworn in each city. They lead the city and oversee daily operations go well. They report to Ryu and Yuhi often.

Lunar Bishop: Lunar Bishops are representatives of Moonreach who run and attend royal events. They foster diplomacy and support projects and administration.

Royal Charmkeeper: Similar to treasurers, Royal Charmkeepers are in charge of the commerce and finances of Lunerest. There's at least one in every city, making sure the economy stays healthy and balanced.

Royal Messenger: There are many Royal Messengers appointed around Lunerest. Royal Messengers wing-deliver important royal messages instead of using magic. They're well-respected and go through intense training.

Royal Professor/Researcher: Royal Professors and Royal Researchers live within royalty's walls and study things the queens are interested in. Many study corruption, diseases, disabilities and moon magic to try to help make Lunerest better.

Moonsayer: Moonsayers communicate with the moons and cosmos and look after the overall state of the atmosphere. The queens do this themselves in Moonreach but there are trained Moonsayers in each major city as well. The health of the cosmos and dimension is perpetually monitored between the queens and Moonsayers.

Royal Guide: Royal Guides work to welcome travelers and new residents to Lunerest's cities and towns. They're appointed in every settlement and tend to know the ins and outs of the settlements. They report to royalty frequently.

Royal Scribe: Royal Scribes are in charge of preserving Lunerest's history, traditions and taking notes for the queens. They can be called on at almost any moment, so they've always got to be ready.

Royal Aid: Royal Aids are like butlers or maids; they keep the castles clean, do errands, chores and pick up any miscellaneous requests from royalty. The queens prefer moonbathing to eating but some Royal Aids specialize in cooking in the castles as well.

Royal Groundskeeper: Royal Groundskeepers are in charge of keeping the gardens and courtyards around the castles beautiful and healthy. Pixyns typically occupy these seats.

Royal Ecologist: These seats are normally occupied by pixyns; they study and maintain Lunerest's environment and wildlife.

Royal Weaver: Royal Weavers are skilled clothing-makers that serve the queens and royalty.

Royal Jester: The queens value laughter and entertainment, so there are many Royal Jesters not only in Moonreach but around all the other royal settlements in Lunerest.

Royal Musician: The queens enjoy music of all sorts; there are many royal musicians within Moonreach's castle and other settlements. They enjoy the royal life in exchange for entertaining the queens and performing at ceremonies.

Interdimensional Ambassador: Interdimensional Ambassadors are important members of royalty; they keep peace and help other dimensions. They typically live in Lunerest but spend large amounts of time in other dimensions. They learn the languages and traditions of other dimensions and bring back any helpful magic or technology.

Royal and Lullay Knights: One of the most prestigious positions a xyn can hold; knights go through intense training and are in charge of keeping Lunerest safe. They patrol, fight back corruption, help society do difficult tasks and many are doctors or medics. They're respected pretty much anywhere they go in Lunerest.

society

Lunerest's cities and towns are pretty peaceful outside of threats of corruption beasts or interdimensional issues. Xyns tend to get along well and work well together. There are laws to keep order; knights typically patrol around every major city and town. Xyns aren't watched closely, but knights tend to be around often to protect against corruption beast attacks.

Xyns value magic, beauty and creativity. Xyns with less desirable or bizarre traits can sometimes feel othered in xyn society.

Xyns tend to like to do things in choirs at specific times so a lot of times towns and cities will have group moonbathing, meditation, cleaning and other fun events like stargazing or singing.

Although xyns have no need to wear clothing, a lot of them like to wear loose clothes, jewelry, ribbons, bells and scarves. Their pawpads are typically kept open even when wearing shoes. Xyns love gemstones and anything sparkly so those are typically integrated into fashion. Xyns often decorate their horns with the most valuable things they can find. Xyns tend not to like to wear things on their wings; so wing silks and jewelry are often reserved for special events and occassions.

Traveling around Lunerest is encouraged and popular. Lots of xyns like to flock together from one part of Lunerest to another during changing seasons.

Xyns in general love and adore the queens; they do what's best for Lunerest and genuinely love the residents they rule over.
There are those who seek corrupt power, cause general crimes and rebel against the royalty, but there exist other smaller factions of xyns keeping the peace. Royalty isn't prominent around smaller settlements or towns so they usually have smaller guard forces.
