KQ 3/3: BRAVERY
Having delivered the recovered relic pieces to Oberon, Glory wishes a fond farewell to Aurelius, making the decision to part ways. Once departed, hy soars back toward the battlefield, hoping to find Samson to receive further instruction.
Even on the outskirts, the sound of clamour of xyns joined in combat meets hys ears. A keen eye is kept on each instance of the sound, but continuing undeterred, as most of the situations seemed to be under control.
That is until a cry of pain echoes sharply through the air– a noise that immediately causes Glory’s gaze to shoot to the source. A lone xyn besieged by two corrupted xyns, spirited and holding her ground but definitely unsteady after taking a substantial hit from one of her opponents.
Tucking wings in tight, Glory plummets down to the scene. Angling hymself toward one of the enemies, unsheathing hys claws, tackling the corrupted xyn with the full momentum of the dive, forcing it to the ground and pinning it there. Inhaling deeply, then exhaling a frigid cone of ice onto hys opponent, freezing it in place.
Catching a flash of light exploding with stars out of the corner of hys eye, spinning around to see the second corrupted xyn reeling from the burst of astral magic emitted from the injured xyn. A burst of magic that had saved Glory’s back, it seemed, as the now-stunned enemy had been rearing to attack hym.
Not wasting a moment, Glory sharply inspires once more and releases another spray of icy breath, trapping the second adversary just like the first.
“That will only stop them temporarily, so we should get out of here quick–” insists Glory as soon as hy catches hys breath. “How injured are you, can you still fly?”
With the immediate threat dealt with, the injured moxyn’s eyes shift from a glaring red to a more neutral gold. Stretching her wings, tentatively taking off– not without a wince of pain, but she puts on a determined expression and gives an affirmative nod.
“I should be able to make it.. let’s go!”
With that, the two of them take off, Glory being sure to fly at a more moderate pace to avoid straining hys injured companion.
Glancing at her, hy sees a smile has made its way onto her face. “By the way, I’m Eris. Thanks for saving my butt back there!”
Adrenaline rushing from having just participated in real combat for the first time, a grin is already present on hys face. This grin grows at Eris’s comment, Glory finding her spunk despite the dire straits admirable.
“I’m Glory; your astral flash bang came in clutch too!”
Pleasant banter ensues between them until they finally locate the makeshift infirmary where Lullay Knights, among whom was Hush, were tending to wounded xyns. As the two of them land, one of the healers rushes up to aid Eris– who waves her wing in parting, a gesture Glory reciprocates.
Turning then to Hush, recounting not only what occurred in the battle but also relaying news from Oberon on the progress of the relic reconstruction. Once Glory finishes, Hush takes a moment to digest the information, then nods appreciatively at Glory.
“Well done, thank you for your diligence in completing your task as well as for your bravery in defending Eris– I will talk to Samson, as I feel you have earned your place as a full Royal Knight.”
