As soon as it was known that Sooshi would visit Moonreach for a Cooking Contest, Halo knew they had to enter! They were by no means a professional cook, but they had always had a passion for creating new and unique flavors. Cooking helped Halo focus and eases any worries for a bit!

For the Contest Soup, they decided to put an experimental spin on a classic recipe from childhood: Marshmush Sour Soup! Equal parts Marshmush and Pumpikorn are sliced into small pieces and then mashed together in a creamy paste, rich and nutty in flavour. The paste shall be heated in a pot and slowly thinned with water until it has the preferred creamyness.  Additionally you prepare a few potatoes and cut them up in big chunks, flovouring them with your favorite combination of spices, they are then burnt sharply to create a crunchy element in the soup and should be added right before serving as to not get too mushy! Finally, you should not forget to add a few bitty berry leaves (not the fruit!!) for a sour finish and as a little pop of color.

When Halo got around to presenting their soup creation to Sooshi, they were really nervous at first. Sooshi's friendly  demeanor eased Halos anxiety and they even started chatting a bit about the proccess of creating the soup. They certainly lost track of time and the soup was turning cold so quickly, whoops!

Wether or not his soup would earn a place, Halo was very thankful for the chance to geek out about food with fellow Xyns and enjoy a spoonfull or two of some lovely culinary creations. They will certainly bring home some new recipes to try out.
