Lacrimosa enters his knight training together with other vexyns. Among them are also Ragna and Eden, who are both polar opposites of his personality.
To his great chagrin, they're sent out to patrol together. The quiet, serious Lacrimosa is suffering under the more outgoing xyns and wishes for them to be more focused on the job.
It's a bumpy start, but over time they grow close, becoming best friends and a great team.
